What is the purpose of GeorgeWasRight?
GeorgeWasRight is an online platform designed to help Americans become more knowledgeable about democracy, and more engaged with public decision-making. It covers a broad range of topics, from how our government functions (or fails to function!), all the way up to the steps necessary to run for public office.
What is the political perspective of this website?
GWR is factual and nonpartisan. As you view the content on GeorgeWasRight, you’ll quickly notice the absence of traditional labeling. In the original content on the site, there is no mention of any particular political party or ideology. Further, no contemporary politicians are discussed, although there are occasional references to historical figures, and some of the quotes at the tops of pages have been taken from more recent figures.
While there are significant differences between the parties, there are countless other places to debate them. GWR will instead focus on systemic problems that plague both major parties and many politicians, such as unbounded partisanship and the never-ending quest for more campaign contributions.
What is the political bias of this website?
In a word: none. GeorgeWasRight seeks only to provide factual information about the structure of our government, how it works (or is supposed to work), and how individual citizens can become more engaged with public decision-making.
What specifically can I learn about on this website?
